Te Whariki / Our Curriculum...The programme we provide is primarily a child-focused one. It is based on the principles, strands and goals of Te Whāriki- Early Childhood Education curriculum guidelines.
We aim to provide our tamariki with opportunities for a wide variety of learning experiences through the medium of Te Reo Māori. This is offered at various levels, subject to kaiako/teacher abilities. Our centre includes staff who are beginner to fluent speakers. Our focus on te reo and tikanga Māori is an endeavour to revitalise the Māori language as well as to promote and encourage the social, cultural and spiritual awareness of whānau so they are empowered to be biculturally competent. Ko Ngā Kaiako / Our teachers...Wherever possible we will endeavour to employ kaiako who are both qualified and experienced in the Early Childhood Education sector as well as being proficient in te reo me ngā tikanga Māori. We have identified that it is desirable to build up a team of people, who contribute a range of skills and expertise, unified by a common passion and commitment to deliver a high quality learning environment to our whānau.
